Did you know that one of the secrets to unlocking your full potential and feeling empowered is setting and achieving goals? Creating goals that align with your core values and long-term vision, helps you identify the gap between who you are now and the best version of yourself.
Setting goals with my clients allows them to focus on what's most important. Creating goals that are authentic and meaningful to them drives their sense of purpose and helps them step outside their comfort zone to achieve fulfillment.
Are you ready to set some new goals and find the best version of you? Then let me share some strategies with you.
Unlock Your Why
Identify and write down your core values and long-term vision. This means you can ‘check-in’ and make sure your goals are aligned with what matters most to you.
Stay focused on what you DO want not what you don’t want!
Setting SMART Goals
Smart goals help you clarify your ideas and focus your efforts.
- Specific: Define your goal as much as possible with simple, clear language
- Measurable: Set the criteria for how you will track the progress and measure the
- Achievable: Is your goal realistic and achievable?
- Relevant: Is the goal consistent with others you have and does it align with your long-term plans?
- Timely: A timeline will keep you focused and establish a sense of progress.
Developing an Action Plan
- Break down your goals into smaller ‘bite size’ steps. This will reduce feelings of overwhelm.
- List out what resources and support you need to achieve your goal.
- Create milestone moments. It’s important to recognise your progress and celebrate the small wins along the way to achieving your overall goal.
Accountability
It's easier to stay on track when you have someone to hold you accountable. Checking in regularly with a coach, friend, or family member will allow you to review your progress and talk through any challenges. Ideally, they’ll also be a great source of encouragement and motivation.
And remember, there’s no ‘perfect moment’ to start setting new goals, so make today that day! Need some help? Contact me with ‘Goal Setting’ as the subject and I’ll email you a free “Understanding Your Goals” Worksheet. Have fun!
